Fargo Angels Hockey Association Announces Expanded Hockey Opportunity for High School-Aged Players
[Fargo, ND] – Fargo Angels Hockey announces a new collaboration to expand hockey opportunities for high school-aged players. The Fargo Angels have entered a joint collaboration with the Fargo Youth Hockey Association and West Fargo Hockey Association to establish a program dedicated to supporting the continued growth of hockey in the Fargo/West Fargo metro area.
The new program will kick off this fall for the 2024-25 season. Pre-season sessions and tryouts will begin in November with the season schedule beginning in December. The program will compete in the NDAHA Jr. Gold league, will offer a 30-35 game season and practice 2-3 times per week. All youth players from West Fargo Youth Hockey, Fargo Youth Hockey Association, and Fargo Angels Hockey with birth dates between June 1, 2005 and May 31, 2009 will have the opportunity to join the new program.
“We’re excited to see this expanded opportunity for high school-aged players in the region,” said Program Coordinator Colin Clarke. “The area hockey associations have really stepped up with a commitment to keep growing hockey in our communities. More opportunities to play and develop can only bring good things for the sport of hockey in the area.”
Highlights of the program include:
• Opportunity to compete for NDAHA State Championship: All NDAHA Jr. Gold teams earn a berth for the State Tournament [Feb 28 – March 1, 2025, Minot, ND].
• Player Development Opportunities: Top players from the NDAHA league may be selected for Team North Dakota and have the opportunity to play in a USA Hockey Showcase Tournament [April 2025].
• Opportunities After High School: Area Jr. Gold players have moved on to play Jr. A, 18U AAA, and College hockey in the following leagues: SIJHL, USPHL, NA3HL, NAT1HL, ACHA DII.
Administration of the program is handled by FYHA. Registration is now open through the Fargo Youth Hockey Association website at https://www.fargohockey.org/jrgoldoverview. The information on the FYHA webpage will be updated soon to reflect the new program collaboration but registrations are now being accepted.
